 About Patrick Bakker

Patrick is 4me's Product Manager. After completing his studies in information science and applied linguistics, Patrick came into contact with service management processes as an IT consultant for CGI and as a billing specialist for World Online, Ziggo and Embratel. He then started his own copywriting business and founded a school to teach children about new technologies.  This rare combination of experiences helps Patrick as he explains the unique benefits that 4me has to offer as an enterprise service management solution.

Personal Views on Change Calendar

Recently, a second view of the change calendar was added, in which potential conflicting tasks of workflows are hidden from view. This allows change managers to get an easier overview of all the open workflows. There are of course many ways to filter the change calendar, and different managers and organizations can all have their […]

Shop Articles Appear in Search Results

Shop articles can now appear in the global search of both Xurrent Self Service and the Specialist Interface. When a shop article search result is followed in self-service, the user will be taken to the details of the article in the context of the shop. This means that the ‘Add to Cart’ button is then […]

Reordering Automation Rule Actions

Automation rules can save a lot of time, and even mistakes, by automating predictable events in Xurrent, or events that occur often. Audit Trail Usability Update

Audit trails are there so that every update on a record is captured for possible analysis later. Some audit trails have become rather long, and are difficult to navigate. For that reason, two changes have been made to them. Firstly, instead of 10 audit lines per page, Xurrent now shows 100 lines. This removes the […]

Service Navigator Shows Outages

The Service Navigator, located in the Analytics console, provides an interactive graphical presentation of the dependencies between services and their constituents. By showing whether any of the service categories, services, service instances, or configuration items are down, it has at once become much more powerful. Imagine that one of an organization’s servers has crashed, resulting […]

Create Note at Request Generation

The Request note field has been added to the ‘Request Generation’ section of a task. This probably needs some explaining. In Xurrent, not only can a request start a workflow, but a workflow task can also generate a new request. This is especially helpful for enterprises when working with external providers. Usually, a request template […]
