Create Note at Request Generation
The Request note
field has been added to the ‘Request Generation’ section of a task. This probably needs some explaining. In Xurrent, not only can a request start a workflow, but a workflow task can also generate a new request. This is especially helpful for enterprises when working with external providers. Usually, a request template made available by such a provider is used for the request generation. Read more about this in this enlightening blog post.
While a note can be added to the created request by adding it to the request template, that note is the same with every request creation from that template. Usually that is fine, as notes can be added manually afterwards. But sometimes it is helpful if the request is accompanied by a customized note right from the start. When an email integration is in place, for example, the created request is then picked up by the integration including the necessary information. This is now possible.
For this, the Request note
field has been added to the ‘Request Generation’ section of a task. A workflow manager can update this field for tasks with the status ‘Registered’. Alternatively, the workflow manager can add two tasks before the request generation task. The first (implementation) task asks for the note, and the second (automation) task uses automation to copy that note to the Request note
field of the request generation task and then completes itself.
